Toronto – Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Tuesday appeared in the parliament.
He spoke about the economy (he painted a rosy image as usual despite the unprecedented cost of living crisis and growing poverty), “negotiation” with rebel groups, and access to the sea (Assab) among other things.
He reiterated his conception of “negotiation” – for rebels “to respect rule and discuss anything with the government.”
Opposition voices expressed concern that Prime Minister Abiy’s government is not working to resolve the conflict in the country and improve the security situation but rather preparing for war with Eritrea.
