Ethiopia’s National Bank Issues “Last Warning”

Toronto – National Bank of Ethiopia governor, Eyob Tekalign, threatens to take what he called a decisive action against those engaged in illegal money transfer service to Ethiopia.

He was making a reference to those in the U.S.

What he announced as the “last warning” came after a meeting with businesses and leaders of the Bank association.

He warned that the measure would be one beyond suspending or freezing accounts. He added that National Bank works in coordination with the law enforcement structure. Some importers and exporters are indicted as having involvement in the illegal business.
