Al Amoudi announced that he will be coming to Ethiopia in the “Near Future”

Toronto – Ethiopian born Saudi billionaire Mohammed Al Amoudi announced that he will be embarking on mega projects.
In a virtual message on the occasion of “Family Day” his comply MIDROC organized, the Alamoudi stated that his company is intested in having more workers and that he hopes to see Ethiopia in the middle income category.
“The five years result was very good. You worked with the sense that MIDROC is yours. The next five years plan is even bigger. I want more employees. We are entering new mega projects,” he said.
“Having young and hard working people like you, there is no limit as to where we can reach,” he added.
He also disclosed plans to travel to Ethiopia in the “near future” and hold discussions with his employees. But again no time line is specified.
He has been under house arrest by the Saudi Arabian govenment. There was an apparent effort by the Ethiopian government to secure his release, but did not work in the past. He was arrested in 2017, along with several other Saudi billionaires, on alleged charges of corruption. Afer his release, the Saudi government did not allow him to travel to Ethiopia ans was rather under what appears to be a house arrest. No detail is released by the Saudi government as to what exactly the corruption allegation was.

From his message, which the company shared on its social media page, Al Amoudi is intending the mega projects to increase number of employees. However, he did not specify as to what exactly the projects are or the sector.
Al Amoudi also highlted the impacts of inflation in Ethiopia on the lives of the people and hinted on working further on the agricultural projects.
His net worth is estimated to be well over $10 billion.
