Ethiopia’s Civil Aviation on a mission to enhance domestic connectivity to boost the Tourism and Investment Sector

Borkena
Toronto – Ethiopia’s Civil Aviation Authority has announced that it is planning to use regional airports for international flights in addition to Bole International Airport.
It was during a meeting between the Civil Aviation Authority, Ministry of Transport and Logistics , and other stakeholders that the issue was raised, Borkena Reporter reported from Addis Ababa.
The disclosure is attributed to Endashaw Yigezu, the Civil Aviation authority’s Director for the Air Transport Sector. He is cited as saying the plan is to link cities domestically via air transport and use regional airports for International flights.
The plan is for the next fiscal year and for the subsequent fiscal years. Part of the plan is to start flight services between regional cities for local travelers.
For instance, he is cited as saying, “It is possible to create connectivity between Mizan Tepi-Jimma-Gambella-Assosa-DireDawa- Harrar- Bale-Robe- and that such an arrangement would change the pattern of air transport between Addis Ababa Airport and the regional airports.”
It will enhance accessibility and increase the number of air transport users.
There have been persistent complaints about the price of local flights. There has been a surge in the number of air transport users but many relate it to the prevalent security crisis and kidnapping which complicated road transport across regions and between cities. There have been recurring incidents of kidnapping of passenger buses with hundreds of passengers particularly in the Oromia region of Ethiopia.
The director also highlighted the relevance of the new plan from the point of view of enhancing connectivity for the tourism sector and for enhancing investment activity.
Ethiopia currently has about 22 airports across the country. The country is also currently building what is said to be the largest airport in Africa when completed in about ten years time. The current estimate of the project cost is about 10 billion. Its location is in Bishoftu (Debre Zeit) which is about 44 kilometers south east of the capital Addis Ababa

Tourism destroys countries as seen in Europe like Spain Italy and France where they hate tourists
What’s new? EAL being managed and run by geniuses from top to bottom the sky will be the limit for what it can achieve. With more and more people moving into towns, that country is going to be more and more urbanized. There will be more metropolitan areas with inhabitants numbering in hundreds of thousands and multi millions. Considering the topography of the country, air transport will be the fastest way to reach them, at least for now. To build railways to many areas in rough terrains can be prohibitively expensive considering the low level of domestic skills to build them. All existing railways are built with foreign companies including the surveying. The Djibouti-Addis/Finfinne railway was built by Chinese companies including their ‘drop dead beauty’ trains and that is where it stops. It is no secret that those trains spend more time in the garage than on the rail tracks and now requiring billions more to fix them. Meanwhile, the country is on the hook with billions of dollars it borrowed from, you guessed it right, Chinese banks, to build the railway. In another new development, heavy trucks and buses made by the commies have been found to be unsafe at any speed on that country’s roads making them some of the most dangerous in the world causing the deaths of close to 10 thousand passengers this year alone. Mind you, that country’s vehicle count is less than 2 million with most of them being in the capital, Jimma, Bahir Dar and Dire Dawa. The officials finally got the courage to ban imports of all commies’ trucks(Sinotruk) into the country. That is why I have nothing but utter contempt for those demonic commies in Beijing and everywhere.
