Addis Ababa, Ethiopia– Ethiopian Ministry of Transport and Logistics held talks today with Abyssinia Luxury Coach, a company based in Nairobi, Kenya.
In a statement today, the Ministry announced that the State Minister Bar’o Hassan met with Michael James, the owner of Abyssinia Luxury Coach who both discussed important points on how they can work collaboratively in the transportation area.
It is said that the state minister outlined plans for the current fiscal year to connect Ethiopia with Kenya, Djibouti, and Somaliland through land transport and he affirmed the Ministry’s readiness to strengthen public-private partnerships and work collaboratively with the company.
It is also revealed that the Ministry will prioritize the necessary legal frameworks to facilitate the cooperation between Ethiopia and Kenya. The statement further said that the ministry reached an agreement with the company to complete the necessary processes on its end.
During the discussion the owner of Abyssinia Luxury Coach was said to have expressed his company’s interest in launching a bus service between Nairobi and Addis Ababa. He also stated that the company has begun acquiring cross-country buses for this purpose and showed interest in working in coordination with public service transport.
