Toronto – Asres Mare Damtie, one of the senior fano leaders under the Amhara Fano National Force (AFNF) umbrella this week had an interview with Anchor Media.
The focus of the interview was to remark on the latest statement from the ruling prosperity party. A few days ago the ruling prosperity party released a statement after concluding a week of executive committee and central committee meetings. As has been the case in the past, the ruling party accused Fano of serving “enemy forces” interest. Fano has been denying that it gets any support from elsewhere. “The struggle,” Fano has been saying, is supported by the people in the region.
Asres offered updates of the state of military engagement against the government forces in places like Enarge Enawgua and Tilili areas of Gojjam. He said there have been ambush attacks and significant military gains are reported. The government has not remarked on the latest claims from Fano forces.
