Toronto – Italian PM  Giorgia Meloni has arrived in Ethiopia on Sunday to attend the UN Food Systems Summit +4 . It is a three days event co-hosted by Ethiopia and Italy, according to information from FAO.

Abiy Ahmed greeted her upon arrival at Bole International Airport.  Later, the two leaders had a meeting at Emperor Haileselassie’s Jubilee Palace

“I had the pleasure once again of welcoming Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni of the Italian Republic to the National Palace. During our meeting, we engaged in productive discussions on a range of bilateral and multilateral issues. Our longstanding partnership was further reinforced by the signing of a Joint Declaration on the “Ethiopian–Italian Cooperation Framework, ” Abiy Ahmed wrote on his social media.

While the state-owned media outlet reported about what PM Abiy wrote on X after his meeting with the Italian PM, there was no coverage as to what the Italian PM remarked about the meetings.

The last thing the Italian PM wrote on her X page was about the incident in Susa Valley in Italy regarding clashes between protestors and Italian police. The incident took place just a day before her trip to Ethiopia.

  1. That nature’s demon has paid a visit to the area today. A 4,6 magnitude of an earthquake had rattled a beach very near to the city of Djibouti. Let’s hope and pray that is not the precursor of what to follow. It was right on the fault line that runs through the Red Sea.

  2. PM Meloni called me yesterday to tell me what was done to her in Ethiopia. She was crying rivers in telling me that her political asylum application was rejected and has been deported the same day to the country of Dahomey in West Asia right at the border between Thailand and Cambodia. Poor thing!!!
