Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The Afar Police Commission announced today, via a statement through the Federal Police, that Haj Jamie Adem Ahmed, who was formerly the communication expert for the regional police commission, has defected from his post to the “enemy,” revealing that the Afar Police Commission’s Facebook page is currently in the possession of this individual.
The statement added that since the individual went missing, efforts have been underway with relevant experts to close the page. Although the page was temporarily closed at one point, on July 23, the individual managed to reopen it and distribute his own inappropriate messages, it said.
The statement alleged that the individual opened the page using an unknown personal account and email, and that he had been preparing for this “malicious” act for four years, as can be understood from his deplorable actions.
Furthermore, the statement emphasized that any messages posted on the Afar Police Facebook page do not reflect the views of its regional Police Commission. “The page is currently under the control of Jamie Adem Ahmed, now identified as a wanted criminal,” it said.
The Police Commission stated the page is “beyond its control.” It urged the public, government bodies, and police force members to disregard messages posted by the individual until the Commission, with technical experts, takes corrective action.
