Toronto – Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Thursday appeared at the Ethiopian Parliament “to respond” to questions from the Parliamentarians. Over 95 percent of the Ethiopian Parliament is dominated by the ruling “Prosperity party” and his government has been enacting countless legislations including in sensitive areas like property ownership by foreigners and the opening of Ethiopia’s weak banking sector to foreign investors among other things.
In his appearance, on Thursday, the Prime Minister responded to questions related to the security situation in the country, possible conflict in the north including with Eritrea, the economy and “production of natural gas,” the completion of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) among other things.
