Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia on Wednesday announced the country’s participation in the 15th BRICS Health Ministers’ Meeting, held in Brasília, Brazil.
Representing Ethiopia, Ambassador Leulseged Tadese delivered remarks emphasizing the urgent need to strengthen global health systems in response to ongoing and emerging public health threats. He reiterated Ethiopia’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 3, particularly the drive toward achieving Universal Health Coverage.
Ambassador Leulseged also highlighted the importance of enhanced intra-BRICS cooperation, calling for greater collaboration in capacity building, knowledge sharing, and technology transfer among member states.
The meeting concluded with a Joint Declaration reaffirming the BRICS nations’ commitment to bolstering global health resilience and deepening their partnership with the World Health Organization.
