Toronto – Ethiopian Airlines on Monday announced that it has suspended all flights to Tel Aviv “due to operational considerations.” The suspension will be in effect until June 22.
“Ethiopian Airlines would like to inform its esteemed passengers that due to operational considerations, all flights between Addis Ababa (ADD) and Tel Aviv (TLV) in both directions have been suspended until 22 June 2025,” reads the statement that the Airlines shared on its social media page.
The airlines requested passengers to contact the nearest Ethiopian Airlines office or contact the Global Customer Interaction Center at +251 116 179 900 to book flights again. |
The airline’s decision seems to be related to the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. Why Ethiopian Airlines suspended its flights only until June 22 is unclear.
Over the past four days, Israel and Iran have been trading missile attacks targeting cities. Both sides have reported casualties from the attacks in Tel Aviv and Tehran.

Talking about the on-going armed conflict between Iran and Israel, I’m getting more worried about it. It may suddenly end up getting out of control. Please remember both warring countries have the capacity of deploying weapons of mass destruction such as chemical and even nuclear bombs. The more it goes on it may start getting other countries near and afar becoming active participants. You also have to keep in mind that the cleric leaders in Tehran are fatalists and will have no qualms if they live or die in the war believing eternal comfortable life will be awaiting them. I’m also worried for the people we all left behind in the entire Horn of Africa that the fallout may drift in their direction. I’m more and more worried by the day. Let’s hope there will be a ceasefire very soon. I’m getting a bad dream about this escalating conflict.
