In what seems like a complete capitulation of the Amhara Declaration of Principles and betrayal of the Amhara  people, the 13 man led command post (AKA AFNF) put out a response to the US government’s call to Fano for a  peace plan. A careful reading of the 9 points reveal a somewhat amateurish yet dangerous approach to international  diplomacy combined with a yearning for a bite of the rotten apple.

The response by the AFNF makes it clear that this group is ready to completely compromise the interest of  Amharas, with the precondition that it is allowed to control the so-called Amhara region. This is where the entire  house of cards crumbles. The Amhara people are fighting for a complete paradigm shift and overhaul of the 1991  apartheid framework which has been the root cause of the Amhara genocide. Coupled with the fact that an  overwhelming amount of the ethnic cleansing has been outside the artificially created ethnic borders and regions  called Amhara. The Fano reportedly control over 90% of the region and have established free zones where they  together with the local community have established their own people-led administrations. It is therefore unclear and  somewhat unrealistic to ask for a “transfer of power”. This is a non-starter for the Amhara people as it does not  address the cause of our suffering. It is reminiscent of those Kapo Amharas like Gedu Andargachew (Kapo ..The worst insult..) who work for the regime and are directly responsible for these heinous crimes against  their own people. It should not be surprising that there are elements within the Amhara Fano who would for 30 sliver  coins lead their brothers to slaughter. This is present in socioeconomic dynamics throughout the world. There will be  those who value themselves more than a higher cause and go to the point of becoming an asset/agent. The  important point is to identify these networks, make them public and discredit them with clear consequences.

The remaining 8 points are merely space fillers and insult the intelligence of all Amharas (passageway to Addis  Ababa??, .) Once there is acceptance of the current federal framework then anything which follows are not relevant.  In the context of the politics within Ethiopia there are numerous forces who are short sighted and looking for a quick  momentary and monetary gratification. They can perhaps be classified into 3 groups.

1) These include current and former Amhara cadres including those who may have been part of this blood thirsty  regime. There are numerous groups both outside and inside Ethiopia who either have established organizations  or social media or call themselves as experts and advisors.

2) There are other groups who attach themselves like a leech to these former and current cadres in the hopes that  they may become relevant.

3) Finally the regime’s social media army and their handlers are plentiful. BBC reported that there are thousands of  these regime paid, controlled and directed media gangs.

The question we would like to ask are:

A. What is the goal and objective of AFNF? What are it’s principles?

B. Does AFNF have a written roadmap or manifesto?

C. What is the leadership structure?

D. Does the AFNF have agreed upon bylaws by its membership?

Until the Amhara people and the rest of the world are able to transparently understand this 13 man led command  post/group it is a wasteful task to continue further analysis. The AFNF has a responsibility and due diligence to  come forward with the answers to our basic questions. It is futile to focus on individuals within this group until they  define themselves as an organization. As of today they neither fulfill nor do they resemble a coherent organization.  However in the absence of these answers the public would be forced to evaluate this group based on statements  made by individual such as Gen,Tefera Mamo, Asres Mare Damte, Zemene Kase, Mihret Wodjao, Marshet Tsehayu  and others.

This statement from AFNF is an upfront and intellectually dishonest to all Amharas and those Amhara forefathers  who fought against this genocide, this existential threat. Let’s pay homage to Dejazmach Tsehayu EnkoSelassie,  Professor Asrat Woldeyes, Dr. Ambachaw, Brig. General Asamenew Tsige and so many others.  Finally it is to be noted that this group released their response within hours of the US Embassy statement before the  ink was dry. We find that it is curiously similar to a much maligned and criticized statement from AAA almost a year  ago. Amharas will never accept this treachery just like the Jews said Never Again!!! Amharas say Never Ever Again!!!
