Addis Ababa, Ethiopia — The Ethiopian Aviation Forum officially opened this week at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel in Addis Ababa, convening global aviation leaders, government officials, aircraft manufacturers, and industry stakeholders for discussions centered on the future of aviation in Africa.
Organized by Ethiopian Airlines, the event provides a platform to explore opportunities and challenges in the sector, with a focus on fostering regional integration, technological innovation, and sustainable growth. The forum will run through April 25, 2025.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Mesfin Tasew, Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, emphasized the role of aviation in supporting Africa’s economic development. “Ethiopian Airlines is proud to host this forum in the heart of Addis Africa,” he stated, highlighting the potential of the aviation sector to drive integration and growth across the continent.
Founded in 1945, Ethiopian Airlines is the largest airline in Africa and operates a modern fleet serving more than 130 domestic and international destinations. The airline has received multiple accolades, including being named Best Airline in Africa by Skytrax and maintaining a strong presence within the Star Alliance network.
The forum is expected to facilitate dialogue on regulatory frameworks, infrastructure investment, and innovation, while also providing networking opportunities for key stakeholders in the global aviation landscape.
