Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Ethiopian Airlines has announced the launch of a new passenger flight service to Sharjah, a major city in the United Arab Emirates, commencing on June 1st. This expansion underscores the airline’s ongoing strategy to increase its presence in the Middle East.
The new route will operate four times weekly, providing travelers with a convenient connection between Ethiopia and the UAE. This initiative is anticipated to enhance travel options for both business and leisure passengers, offering an additional gateway between the two regions.
Ethiopian Airlines already serves over 17 destinations in the Middle East, operating more than 100 weekly passenger and cargo flights. The addition of Sharjah is viewed as a strategic move to further strengthen economic, tourism, and cultural links between Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates.
