Toronto – Tigray opposition leaders have been alleging that the Eritrean government is involved in what he called a creeping coup d’etat in the region which culminated in the removal of Getachew Reda as Interim President. Gebru Asrat, former president of the region and TPLF executive, is one of them. 

In his latest interview with Andafta media, he says Shabiaya (a reference to the Eritrean government) has bigger plans – not just involvement in the Tigray region – which the Eritrean government has been denying.  Gebru also remarked about Assab.
