Toronto – On October 25, the Ethiopian Defense Force celebrated the 117 anniversary of its foundation. Several events were organized in the capital Addis Ababa.
One of them was a discussion forum during which Major General Tiruye Assefe -a high ranking member of the Defense Force- conveyed a critical remark in the presence of many other colleagues.
“Our defense force paid unnecessary sacrifice for the last four years” due to conflicts over an agenda set up by certain groups. She said it during a live transmission.
To highlight the pervasive nature of the conflict across the country, she said “there is no place where our defense force is not dispersed.”
General Tiruye is one of the senior military generals. Before joining the army, she was a member of the TPLF guerrilla forces.
In the same week, Abiy Ahmed appeared at the Ethiopian parliament and painted an image that as if war in different parts of the country was imposed on his government.
Over the past four years his government indulged in two major wars. One was against the TPLF forces ; the war broke out in November 2020 and ended in November 2022. It has claimed an estimated 1 million lives in the Afar, Amhara and Tigray regions of Ethiopia.
Soon after the end of that war, Abiy Ahmed’s government launched a major war in the Amhara region of Ethiopia in August 2023 under the guise of “disarming Fano forces” which is still underway. Human rights organizations have been reporting extensive rights abuse and extrajudicial killings in the region. Fano Forces have also been claiming that tens of thousands of government forces have been killed and tens of thousands captured since the war started.
Also, Abiy Ahmed’s government is undertaking a war in the Oromia region of Ethiopia against Oromo Liberation Army.
A video footage of Maj. General Tiruye Assefe remark does seem to be deleted from the state media youtube channel.

Thanks for delivering this information. Yes we are watching very close. The obvious reasons for the disenfranchisement is because of the political governing, when you do deals with Satan you will have to make sacrifices. Ethiopia doesn’t seem to know about the Devil and Satan, or demons. Yes it is demons who are used to manipulate and run the propaganda of Satan works. Ethiopia is doing deals with Satan will lead to the end of human civilization…
Ethiopia is supposed to remain uncolonized. Do you have that the Euro races and foriegn interests can subjugate Ethiopia into a binding force that can cause total disenfranchisement to our people. This is what’s happening now, we’re witnessing disenfranchisement of African nations. Wars happening around the world. But if Ethiopia continues like this the world would soon come to an end.
Let the Right leaders come and spread and promo peace. Now more than ever we need the African Diaspora off the continent and the Ethiopians to work together towards total resistance of the current situation.
