Reminiscent of Egypt’s Arrival Dangers for Neighboring Somalia and Ethiopia

Egypt _ Ethiopia _ Somalia

Egypt is an Arab North African state, which possesses a historic civilization and governance system, including robust institutions, like Military and intelligence. Additionally Egyptians make up the third largest population in Africa, have the second strongest economic power and are closely linked to the Western world’s political alliance, especially America.

Egypt serves as the anchor state of the Middle East, and plays a significant role in Israel’s interests.

In every sense , Egypt always maintains its national interest rather than supporting others, even those closely related to them. One such  example is the Palestinian people’s issue. Palestinians have endured prolonged oppression, massive massacres, and brutal repressions by the Israeli government for more than decades.

Despite the undeniable circumstances of brutality , the Egyptians continue to prioritize their national interests over supporting their brethren . Instead of aiding the Palestinians , they choose to maintain relationships with the west, to increase their received funds,

To the detriment of their Palestinians brothers .this exemplified by their involvement in falsely mediating projects that prolong the suffering of Palestinians through deliberate and merciless selfish actions.

The recent arrival of Egyptians , known for their self-centered opportunism in the Horn of Africa, is a pressing issue that requires a wise understanding of Egypt’s true intentions behind this new project. This project is planned to incite chaos and political turmoil in the region.

Any politically mature individual can discern the truth behind this useless project designed to destabilize the region, undermine stability, and create hostile environments between the two neighboring countries, Somalia and Ethiopia.

It’s an undeniable fact that diplomatic mistakes made by the leaders of both sides have exacerbated the issue and provided Opportunities for external Enemies ,  to intervene in the region’s political matters.

In Addition, The history of animosity and enmity between the two countries has influenced the political attitudes and created significant differences among ordinary citizens, dating back several decades to the era of former regimes.

Notably the Ethiopian government underwent a significant political and attitudinal shift after the  fall of Derg regime in 1991 G.C.  The perception towards Somalia transformed from historical opponents to sister nations. Ethiopia sent troops to support their Somalia brothers in rebuilding and stabilizing the country.

Thousands are sacrificed on this brotherhood intention, with Hundreds of thousands of Somalia refugees being welcomed and hosted in Ethiopia , as a gesture of brother and sister support. These refugees were given the freedom to live everywhere , including the capital city of Addis Ababa. This decision was undoubtedly the correct one, as the relationship between Ethiopia and Somalia must be one of immediate mutual support.

We always have to be optimistic and realistic, accepting the truth of the nature of the people and geographical location. These two peoples are neighboring countries, and we cannot change that. Therefore, there is no other choice but to live together with respect and value each other.

In this context, most Somalia people are grateful for the sacrifices made by their Ethiopian brothers to support their country and its people. It is rare to find an intellectual Somali who overlooks the contributions of Ethiopian troops to Somalia’s stability.

Regarding the current diplomatic tensions between the two countries, Somalia accuses Ethiopia , as violating its national territory and sovereignty, by signing a memorandum Of Understanding (MOU ) with Somaliland, Concerning sea access. On the other hand , Ethiopia argues that being a landlocked state significantly impacts its national economy and the lives of its people, prompting the need for sea access in accordance with international law.

In my opinion, both countries’ debates can have legal and moral grounds when approached optimistically and constructively. It requires intelligence, constructive communication, idea-sharing, and table discussions to prevent escalating tensions into conflict and inviting opportunistic interference from external parties.

One meaningful fact must be realized by the two parties, Egypt is not coming to the region to defend the sovereignty of Somalia and its people.Instead they are pursuing their own interests, by  using this diplomatic tension , they want to fulfill their long-held dream of influencing the region , as  they did in the Middle East before. The fire burning in the horn will not affect their people and they will watch from a distance .

Ethiopian leaders must also consider calming the situation and prioritizing the utmost peaceful and genuine neighborhood case management . They should use public diplomacy and people to people communication channels , to foster a better and sustainable bilateral relationship between the two countries.

I urge the Ethiopian government to follow a different path than the one Somalia’s current leadership has chosen, which is inviting Egypt to the region without considering the potential negative outcomes.

I call on the two parties to come back to the negotiation table and engage in peaceful and diplomatic discussions with a commitment to resolving the issue in a win-win manner.

  1. Those that raised their hands on the old country all meet their fate in the most humiliating ways. Crispi was dragged out of the office in 1896 like a disgraced thief. Mussolini did not meet his final fate posing up but hanging down like a pelt of an otter just hunted down in the fur trade. Siad Barre was beaten and chased out of his country as if he was caught robbing a bank in the Old West and died on a dirty sheet in a hospital built for the homeless in Lagos, Nigeria. Nasser in his final days used to look like that disheveled homeless wino from the streets of LA, Chicago or New York and suddenly suffocated to death of diabetes he got from gobbling down too much sugary carb. Not a different fate awaits that Halawa drunk rabid dog el-Sisi if he dares to do something ‘funny’ to the those innocent black folks whose only ‘crime’ is their working hard to take themselves out of darkness without taking away the share of water from the Blue Nile River of their historical neighbors near and afar. Not even a spoonful!!!

Okay bigots and connivers in Minnesota, LA, Toronto, Tennessee, Michigan, Oslo and Oceania! Keep on wiggling your hips to the dagadash of el-Sisi because that may be your last chance dancing!!! Mark my word for it!!!
