Hassan Sheikh Mohammed, President of Somalia Federal government, recently canceled the third round of Turkey initiated indirect talks with Ethiopia in Ankara.
Tension developed in the region after Ethiopia and Somaliland signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which offered, when completed, the former to have access to 20 kilometers of coastal land in Somaliland on a 50 years rental arrangement.
Because of the agreement, Somalia has been accusing Ethiopia of “violating its sovereignty” while Somaliland has been existing as a de facto state for over 33 years.

Egypt’s Military presence in Somalia is framed as part of African Union Support and Stabilization Mission (AUSSOM). The mission will replace the ATMIS mission by the end of January 2025. Who is next? I am getting news from my merchant relatives that the marauding group now holed up in Western part of the country is attaching various locations in the south of the country including areas not inhabited by my Oromos just to open up a safe corridor to link itself to Somalia. At least it is trying to create a lawless bandit territory in the border areas east, west and south of Moyale. Okay bigots and connivers in LA, Minnesota, Toronto, Tennessee, Oslo and Down Under! What are you waiting for? Your longtime benefactor has just landed in Mogadishu. You better hurry up and say hello!!!
Where did this Tesfa News thing find out about the move of Ethiopian Air Force Base to its Somalia Region? There has been a huge Air Force base at Gode since the times of the late emperor. Is it a heads up to el-Sisi? Who/what is its source?
It is known that Egypt has warm relations with the regional power Tigray sharing common interests. This long standing relationship will develop further and reach the level of diplomatic ties. Tigray supports the water issue Egypt raises in relation to the use of the Nile waters. The late Tigrayan prime minister Meles Zenawi wanted fair share of the Nile waters consistent with the legal Egyptian shares and interests.
It’s about time the ignorant, disillusioned, childish PM to face the consequences of his actions. Driven by his narcissistic behavior and by delusions of grandeur and inferiority complexes at the same time, has managed to alienate Ethiopia and make enemies of all his neighboring countries. No one told him that Turkey has its biggest and most important military base in Somalia? No one told him that Egypt would jump in support of their Somaly brothers?
This is the result of the absence of meritocracy, the prevail of nepotism, when he ousted seasoned diplomats(closing many embassies) and politicians in favour of a small circle of yesmen selected from the Prosperity Gospel church or because of their Oromo bloodlines.
He (the PM) has all the traits of a traditional African dictator. His final days will also be the same as the previous traditional African dictators. I predict that soon he will loose the support of the army and he will be forced to flee the country through the tunnel his messianic (Ergonan inspired) palace that he is building with unknown/undisclosed financing. Ethiopians are very patient people and endure many hardships but when their rage will no longer be contained, the end of his Prosperity Gospel government will be swift, bloody and devastating mashallah!
Btw, this report alleges that its source of the information about the move by the Ethiopian Air Force was this Tesfa News thing. But it is not on the thing’s web site. I don’t know about this. I really don’t know. It’s started giving me the heebie-jeebies now. Should I? Well, you never know these days!!!
The old and small Godey military base in the Somali region was out of commission for long time since Derg times. But there is another small civilian airpor buit in the last few years In Godey city and it was used for civilian purposes for sometime. Abiy himself vised it few months ago and wasI wondering reason behind. But I heard that Abiy’s regime has already overtaken it for military use in recent days. It won’t be big sophisticated and
airforce base or something but would be likely for drone use and other military communications facility like the one he used in Semera of the Afar region during conflict with TPLF and Tigrai region with devastating effect of the drones warfare. But this time around it wouldn’t be a cake walk for Abiy’s manic wars and frenzy mass killings like in the civilians in Tigrai region, Amahara or Oromo regions with drone attacks for years since Somalia will likely employ a batch of similar deadly war toys and drones to disrupt troop or military convey movements, command and communication centres and battfield formation in case active conflict breaks out. May the almighty Allah/God forbid it and the common sense and sane minds prevail!
Namibia is planning to kill more than 700 wild animals, including elephants, zebras and hippos, and distribute the meat to the people struggling with food insecurity as the country grapples with its worst drought in 100 years.
The animals set to be culled include 83 elephants, 30 hippos, 60 buffalo, 50 impala, 100 blue wildebeest and 300 zebras, the country’s Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism announced Monday.
They will come from national parks and communal areas with “sustainable game numbers” and will be killed by professional hunters, the ministry said in a press release.
The aim of the program is to help alleviate the impacts of drought in the southwest African country, the ministry said.

Let’s also assume that Egypt will somehow creates its own pretext(one being its soldiers being attacked in Somalia) and decides to send its soldiers into Ethiopia on punitive military expedition. Let’s assume that and picture it’s fat cat lard ass soldiers going boing boing in the highlands of Western Hararghe. Boy, I can see how that my Itu dardaraa rifleman sitting there right now salivating for their arrival. What a big blob of an easy target!!! You are not done yet. Now imagine that halawa bulged belly soldier from Al-Qahirah rumbling around in the highlands of Amhara, Sidama, Gambela and escarpments of Tigray. You are salivating right now even though you live thousands of miles away just thinking about it, right? I am. I did not even start pressing you to look at the reception they will get from our patriot Somali and Afar brothers and sisters. I can see that Issa and Asoba young man there spitting fire jumping and daring!!! I can see them right now screaming with ‘Let’s go! Give me your best shot you son of a thousand fathers!’. Ooo wee!!! I recall a true story from the 1967 Middle East war where only about 300 Israeli commandos forcing the surrender of the whole division of Gamal Abdel Nasser’s fat ass soldiers in the Sinai theater. That was 300 capturing more than 10,000 armed to the teeth soldiers. There were women in the triumphant 300.
Just picture that and have at it!!! I’m just saying, bigots and connivers in Minnesota, LA, Toronto, Oslo and Down Under notwithstanding.
