National Electoral Board of Ethiopia earlier this week announced that it will not accept decisions from the ongoing TPLF congress

Toronto – The TPLF on Saturday announced that it has removed central committee and Audit commission members who did not attend the 14th Congress. They can only continue as ordinary members from now on, according to the TPLF statement.
Getachew Reda, TPLF’s Deputy Chairman and President of Tigray region Interim administration, is among the seventeen party officials that the TPLF dismissed.
The party said that they can no longer undertake the party’s political work anywhere without the party’s institutional practice and law. In a statement it released on Saturday, the TPLF said the termination of the central committee members and audition commission was in accordance with the party rule. It said that they were elected during the 13th congress and that their terms of service had ended.
Well before the TPLF started the party congress, Getachew Reda and members of the audit commission announced they will not take part in the congress on grounds that the way it is organized violates the party’s rule.
He spoke to media outlets in the region. For Getachew, the central committee and the party’s audit committee are legitimate bodies at this time. There was no consensus about the congress at the central committee members level and a group within the organization prepared the congress.
About two weeks ago, the TPLF was registered with the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia under “special condition” and was given a certificate of recognition. Getachew Reda, however, argued that some TPLF executives (who are also central committee members) used fraudulent documents for the registration process.
Getachew Reda alleges that those who are undertaking the congress “want to control the Regional Interim Administration’s power and if they can’t do that to trigger conflict,” as reported by VOA Amharic service.
The decision from the TPLF’s 14 congress could be facing another problem too. The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) has announced on Monday that the TPLF’s congress violates the law and that decision from the congress will be rejected. The Board was not notified before 21 days – a time needed to verify the process leading to the congress is fair. It was also pointed out that NEBE was supposed to send observers to the congress – which did not happen during the TPLF’s 14th congress. The party has been undertaking the congress since Tuesday under closed conditions.
There is a noticeable concern that the division within the TPLF could lead to a bloody conflict.
Meanwhile, three opposition parties operating in the Tigray region on Friday held a joint press conference blaming the TPLF for what is transpiring in the region. For these parties, the only way out is the formation of an all inclusive transitional regional government.

Abiy Ahmed must resign and be locked up, and the TPLF has been discovered red-handed while plotting to unleash another war on Tigray. The TPLF must be stopped, and its longstanding traditions of hatching a plot to destabilize Tigray and massacre Tigrayans should be thwarted and buried.
Abiy Ahmed must resign and be locked up, and the evil move of TPLF cadres must be halted and divisions must be healed .
