Toronto – The following EMS eletawi interview with one of the Wolkait Identity Committee members, Atalaye Zafe.
It is a great analysis of the problem in connection with Wolkait. While doing so, it sends a message to the Ethiopian Defense Force and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed himself.
This week, Tadesse Worede stated that the Defense Force is making arrangements for “displaced people in Tigray” to return to Wolkait.
One of the arrangements he mentioned is that residents who are living in Wolkait will be made to leave what the government has been describing as a “disputed area.”
This interview – with all the boldness and clarity – is relevant for anyone who is not clear about the situation in Wolkait. Bottom line, it is clear, people in Wolkait will never accept TPLF control of the area and repression of the residents.
