Toronto – The Oromo Liberation Army Public Relation on Saturday announced that it has killed 412 government soldiers and wounded 502 others from a ten days operations in Wollega zones, Shewa zones, Arsi, Hararge, Borena, Guji and Wollo.

Furthermore, it said 75 government soldiers were captured from the operation it has been undertaking “Thousand Fronts Operation,” in the past one month.

” Over the past month, more than 35 major battles have been recorded, spanning all eight operational commands—covering Wollega zones, Shewa zones, Arsi, Hararge, Borana, Guji, and Wollo,”  it  claimed.  Wollo is in the Amhara region of Ethiopia and there is a special zone for Oromo language communities. The group has not specified as to where it launched its operation in this zone.

In addition, the military ethnic Oromo Nationalist group claimed that it has seized sizable firearms including “hundreds of AKM rifles, Sniper rifles (enhancing our medium-range capabilities),  Bren light machine guns (bolstering firepower), Large quantities of ammunition, ensuring sustained operations.”

Without remarking on the claims of OLA, the Ethiopian Defense Force on Saturday said ” due to the action taken the terrorist  Shane [OLA fighters] reached at a point it can no longer be a threat.”

Colonel Girma Ayele is cited as saying the OLA group can not be a threat for peace in the Borena zone of the Oromia region because of the military action taken against the group.  Government also made claims that residents from the area supported a series of defenses for military operations in the area.

There had been similar assertions from the defense force and Oromia regional state over the past six years.  However, the group continues to extensively operate in much of the Oromia region of Ethiopia.

As reported by Borkena in the past, the OLA group has been linked to the massacre of  thousands of ethnic Amhara farming communities who have been living in the region for generations before it was designated as “Oromia” about 32 years ago when the ethnic based regional administration was introduced. As well, the OLA has been linked to widespread ransom kidnaping practices across the Oromia region of Ethiopia over the past six years.

  1. Folks, have noticed something similar in the two numbers cited above, 412 and 502? Let me lay it out for you.
    4+1+2 = 7
    5+0+2 = 7

You see that? All it needs is one more sum of 7. That will be 777 and boo-yah!!!! Jackpot!!! Then we will go home to our new ‘Republic’!!! This must have been by some one with PhD. What a genius and must have been a Rastaman blowing a 20-inch ganja!!!

  2. Who? What is that name Colonel Girma Ayele? It ain’t a Navajo name and obviously does not exist in the Oromifta language. Aha! It is that thing Amhara-umma. I told you this ‘umma’ boogeyman is everywhere. It is a concoction. If you want to make someone an ‘umma’ all you need is a small amount of that. Just lace someone’s drink with a teaspoon of the concoction and baaaam!!! He/she a sworn ‘umma’. Just look at what I did to Brother Isu in Piccola Roma. I teleported myself there and spiked his latte with just half a teaspoon and boom! He is now an ‘umma; on steroid and can’t get off it. And what I had done to him is perfectly legal. At least in my book.
