Ethiopian Musician In Custody Over Spouse Keneni Adugna Death

Toronto – Addis Ababa Police on Wednesday announced that it is investigating the death of Keneni Aduga, a young lady who appeared to be prominent among Ethiopians on social media including TikTok. 

What is known about her death so far, as confirmed by Addis Ababa police, is that she fell from the kitchen side balcony of her 5th floor apartment of Wudassie condo. It is located in Lemi Kura sub city of Addis Ababa on March 10, 2025. The incident happened around 4 a.m. in the morning but the cause is not yet determined. 

She was pronounced dead as she was being taken to Yanet Hospital, police added. 

“After Addis Ababa police received the information, it formed an investigative team, headed to the scene and collected tactical and  technical evidence. The body of the deceased is sent to Dagmawi Menelik hospital for additional investigation,” police said in an update it released on Wednesday. 

Furthermore, police announced that her spouse musician Andualem Gossa, who was found in the apartment at the time of incident, is in custody and under investigation. 

Police said it will announce the outcome of the investigation to the public. It warned the public not to disseminate “inappropriate information on social media.

“Information spreading through various social media pages before police announce the result of the investigation are not only inappropriate but also will have a negative impact in the investigation process,” it said. 

It is unclear if her body will be released from Menelik Hospital. 

Social Media sources indicated  that Keneni released a video on Tik Tok about 12 hours before the news of her death. She was an engineering graduate from Arba Minch University and prominent for  advertisement works in social media.
