Toronto – Eritrean President Isais Afeworki has sent a message to Saudi Arabia, Eritrea’s Ministry of Information disclosed on Monday.

It was Osman Saleh, Eritrea’s Minister for Foreign Affairs,  who delivered it to the  Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah. The message is for Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.

Osman Saleh and his Saudi counterpart have reportedly held discussion on what Eritrea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as “key issues of mutual interest,” and bilateral issues. No further detail was provided.

Tension is developing in the Horn Africa region that could impact the Red Sea area as the relation between Ethiopia and Eritrea is further deteriorating. Some military figures who used to be in senior command positions in the Ethiopian Defense Force, like General Abebe Tekehaymanot, tend to see the inevitability of war between the two counties.

There are views that tend to see Saudi Arabia intervention if war breaks out between Ethiopia  and Eritrea.

  1. The Arabs were instrumental in creating the failed experiment that is ‘Eritrea’ so makes sense to go to them asking for help. Borkena readers, no need to be concerned because there will be NO war as the failed experiment will expire by itself soon.

  2. My longtime homeboy Yemane from Piccola Roma had shot me an email that includes a copy of this letter from Wedi Afo to the Wahabbis. As you all know Yemane and I go back, way back to the late 1960’s.
The letter shows how Wedi Afo and his cabal are infuriated by the leaders of Ethiopia calling them Africans. They are very sensitive about their Abruzzi origin. In the letter he tries to seek sympathy by comparing that to some one calling the royal family a bunch nincompoop Wahabbis. He is also promoting his new all stealth fighter jet Al-Naqfa 75 that can fly at Mach 6 cruising. That is about 4,200 MPH which means it takes a smitten 35 second only to reach and hit targets in Addis/Finfinne from Piccola Roma. Ethiopia! You’re toast! You better raise your hands up and surrender now.
For now, please pardon my interruption. I’m busy packing and putting the final touch on my pending declaration of my and mine only ‘The Itu Democratic Republic’ with its capital at Assabot-Bekaa city. Everyone is invited to the party.
