Addis Ababa – U.S. Ambassador Ervin Massinga, USAID Deputy Administrator Paloma Adams-Allen, Professor Berhanu Nega, Minister of Education, and Danish Ambassador Kira Smith Sindbjerg celebrated the one-year anniversary of the $46 million Childhood Development Activity.

Funded by USAID and the LEGO Foundation, this five-year program provides critical emergency support for pre-primary children in five regions: Amhara, Afar, Tigray, Oromia, and Somali.  It benefits children ages 3 – 6+ years with an estimated reach of 1.8 million children and communities in both conflict and drought affected areas.

The program emphasizes the use of play as a central component of the learning process. Play-based learning contributes to the development of essential skills such as problem-solving, collaboration, and critical thinking.  Policies that integrate play-based learning contribute to the overall well-being and success of future generations. The first year of this program reached more than 13,000 children and engaged in more than 46 communities across five regions despite the challenging operating environment.

Since 2019, USAID and the LEGO Foundation have collaborated to meet the needs of children in both development and crisis and conflict-affected contexts, partnering in Colombia, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Zambia, and South Africa.

For 120 years, the United States and Ethiopia have partnered in health, education, agriculture, food security, science and the environment, and many other areas to improve the lives of all Ethiopians.

  1. Here we go again with Good Ole USA at its best making such the money it donated to improve the lives of the beleaguered children is being spent to what it is intended for. Meanwhile, the two hoodlums in Moscow and Beijing are busy doing something else to the contrary. The one in Moscow is busy raining bombs and bullets over Ukraine to make sure children there are constantly terrorized and beleaguered. The other made man mobster in Beijing is spending most of the day at ministry of finance nagging and driving that fire spitting patriot H.E. Obbo Ahmed bin Shide up the wall with ‘Where is my money with interest? Where is my money and I want it now?’ He is also banishing the youth of his nation by tens of thousands out of the country all the way to the Mexican border while cranking his factoring making fentanyl. He still has the shameful audacity to brag by telling us all that his country has zero unemployment. Now we know where that $17.6 trillion is spent on. It pampers his 100 million commie boot licking cadres. I remember going back to the 1960’s when one of our own commies tried to make me abandon the Holy Scriptures I grew up with and committed to by telling me religion is opium to mankind. Now I know what he meant by that. It took me more than 55 years to understand him thanks to this demon in Beijing. That actually meant after the ‘proletarian dictatorship’ becomes the reality it will engage in churning addictive drugs even more potent than opium. Folks! That commie countryman was telling which religion will be the sole supplier of the opium. I did not get it with my meek mind. Now I know. I told you not to start with me about commies.
