ADDIS ABABA – (BORKENA) – Ethiopian Investment Commission got its newly appointed commissioners for the fifth time over the last six years, sources said.

A report heard from Ethiopia confirmed that two deputy commissioners, including the commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, resigned from their positions and were replaced by new appointees.

Sources told the Weekly Amharic, the Reporter that Lelissie Neme, who led the commission for the past three years, has been appointed as the Director General of the Ethiopian Environmental Protection Authority.

Before joining the Investment Commission, Lelissie was the youngest official at the Ethiopian Industrial Parks Development Corporation at the age of 24.

Hana Araya-Selassie, who has been serving as the Chief Executive Officer of the Ethiopian Postal Service, has been appointed as the new commissioner of the Investment Commission. After Hanna was appointed by the Prime Minister last week, Monday, January 22, 2023, she made a handover with Lelissie.

A law graduate, Hana served as the Deputy Commissioner of the Industrial Parks Sector at the Investment Commission, where she is now the Chief Commissioner, before moving to the Ethiopian Postal Service. It is to be recalled that she previously worked in the Prime Minister’s Office.

The commissioners, Lelissie and Hana have joined the government institutions as new nominees after the 2018 change.

On the other hand, according to sources, the Ethiopia Postal Service is being managed by deputy officials as no new CEO was appointed.

New officers have been named for the place of the Deputy Commissioners of the Investment Commission. Here the deputies have been removed from their positions, but it is not possible to know the names of the institutions to which they have been assigned.

However, it has been learned that one of the former deputy commissioners of the commission, Daniel Teressa, has been appointed as state Minister of Labour and Skills.
