Jigjiga, Somali Region, August 10, 2023 – United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Ethiopia’s new Mission Director, Scott Hocklander, traveled to Somali Region to meet with regional leadership and to visit USAID development projects.  The trip was Director Hocklander’s first since his arrival in Ethiopia.

During the visit, Director Hocklander met with Somali Regional State President His Excellency Mustafe M. Omer to discuss USAID’s longstanding partnership with the people of Ethiopia, including those in the Somali Region.  Director Hocklander emphasized USAID’s commitment to increasing agricultural production, delivering quality public health and education services, and extending safe water supplies and basic sanitation across the region.

He also met with the Somali Regional Disaster Risk Management Commission to discuss progress with the Government of Ethiopia to address humanitarian food aid diversion and to develop an efficient aid distribution system in Ethiopia to safeguard future assistance from diversion.

Director Hocklander visited a USAID-supported youth center in Jigjiga, which is part of the USAID Kefeta youth empowerment program, implemented in Jigjiga by the Forum on Sustainable Child Empowerment (FSCE).  He listened to the young women and men at the youth center, who explained how the program has transformed their lives and discussed how USAID can better partner with them to achieve their goal of empowerment.

Finally, he toured Karamara General Hospital to see two USAID activities that improve the supply chain of life-saving drugs and equipment as well as support records digitization under the USAID Digital Health and the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Management activities.  Director Hocklander discussed with hospital leaders how USAID can further improve the health and livelihoods of people in the region.

USAID is devoted to the health, welfare, and prosperous future of the people of Ethiopia.  In 2022 alone, USAID invested more than $1.8 billion across the country in humanitarian and development aid.  This trip is another example of cooperation between the American people and the people of Ethiopia.

  1. Honest Opinion
Call me naive or any expressions to that effect.

    a) Here is my question: When was, the last time, and any time after that, when European Countries ever helped Black
Africans for the benefit of Black Africans?

    b) Let us be honest: Why do you think so many high level officials of the Western Countries flood into “underdeveloped
    black African Continent???.

    c) The answer is obvious, and will always be so — and the World knows it.

    d) Poor, Honest, Black African People born to be hypnotized by the so-called modern education of the western world,
only to loose its own rich African continent >>> consequently, leading to existence of pathetic artificial living.

    e) Dear Black African: Be honest to yourself and admit to the cruel reality i.e. poor and the joke of the entire world. It
    hurts, deep to the bone

    FINALLY, HONEST QUESTION:
Dear Black Africans: Do YOU deserve the eternally deep negative attitude of the so-called ‘CIVILIZED WORLD’ >>> MASTER of THE WELL KNOWN TRAGIC DEVASTATING WORLD WARS ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? PLEASE, THINK ABOUT IT!!!
    THE END

  3. The generosity of Good Ole USA knows no boundaries when it comes to the old country. It does not discriminate in such beneficial charities. It does not favor one ethnic group over another ethnic group. I’m sure our far sighted Somali brothers and sisters will put any help they get to good use. Right on Brother H.E. Mustafe! You have been doing a commendable job! Right on Brother!!!

You may be asking to know what those two gangsters in Moscow and Beijing are doing all along. One is busy killing infants and the bed ridden elders in Ukraine and the other one is so busy stealing rare and precious minerals from the old country and many other African countries using his thieves he specially trained just for committing all aspects of larcenies. O my goodness! Do I have nothing but disdain for commies and their latter day off springs!
