Ethiopia is mourning Tesfaye Gessesse, a theatrical art professor at Addis Ababa University, and a stage and film actor, reportedly passed away on Wednesday at the age of 84.
He was a scriptwriter for dozens of stage plays, and the author of several books. Also, he acted in several stage plays and Ethiopian films.
The National Theater of Ethiopia has organized a farewell program. He will be laid to rest at Menbere Tsebaot Kidist Selassie in the capital Addis Ababa, according to a report by Fana Broadcasting Corporate.
In addition to the recent war in the north and the never-ending ethnic-based massacres in different parts of the country, the death of several notable Ethiopians added to the tragedy this year.
Meanwhile, former Ethiopian Prime Minister Fikreselassie Wogderess is laid to rest on Wednesday at Menbere Tsebaot Kidist Selassie Church.
