Sudanese Prime Minister Abdella Hamdok on Sunday arrived in Ethiopia for a two days working visit.
The office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia announced that Mr. Hamdok’s intended to boost bilateral relations between the two countries, and hold discussion with his Ethiopian counterpart Abiy Ahmed on issues concerning current affairs in the country.
Ethiopian State media, EBC, reported that Mr. Hamdok met with Abiy, and he is said to have expressed support to the law enforcement operations that the Ethiopian government is undertaking in Tigray region of Ethiopia.
Mr. Hamdok arrived in the country as the number of Ethiopians who crossed to the Sudan from Tigray region of Ethiopia is said to have surpassed 50,000, according to reports from Humanitarian agencies based in Sudan.
Ethiopia State of Emergency Task Force indicated, about two weeks ago, that a considerable number of perpetrator’s of the Maikadra Massacre crossed to Sudan as refugee. Also, there are unconfirmed reports that TPLF forces are reorganizing in Sudan after they lost the war. It is, however, unclear if these issues were discussed during the meeting between Abiy Ahmed and Mr. Hamdok
