Well over 3500 Coronavirus patients are confirmed in Ethiopia. The bulk of the cases ( over 70 percent) are in the capital Addis Ababa.
Addis Ababa City Administration Health Office reported on Monday that the number of confirmed cases in the city has reached 2577. In the past twenty-four hours only, 98 new patients were confirmed.
The latest update from the City administration also indicated that a 19 years old young man has died in connection with the disease.
State of emergency legislation imposed by the Federal government to enforce COVID 19 prevention measures including social distancing is still in place.
The Ethiopian government has also enacted a new regulation requiring everyone to wear a face mask in public places.
