Ambachew Mekonen reportedly sustained life threatening wounds from shooting in his office area.

It is now confirmed that there has been an attempt on Saturday morning to remove Amhara regional state administration top officials from power through violence.
Nigussu Tilahu, head of press secretary in the office of the prime minister, has confirmed about the development in Bahir Dar, seat of the Amhara regional administration.
However, he declined to disclose the identities of those who are responsible for the incident and the extent of the damage.
On the other hand, social media sources with links to the region report that the president of Amhara regional state, Ambachew Mekonen, is shot and his condition is life-threatening. Some other authorities in the region are wounded, but their names are not disclosed.
Bahir Dar was rocked with gun fire, according to social media sources.
There is also an unconfirmed report that the attack was launched by one of the leaders of the region’s special force.
Meanwhile, the Federal defense force is deployed to the region and Bahir Dar city and its surroundings are now under Federal Security forces.

Dr. Abiye became as good as TPLF! The fact is that TPLF and Abiye’s government orchestrated this drama very sad but to protect their existence and in the process to blame and destabilize further weaken Amara region as well get rid of General Asaminew, Dr Ambchew and General Seare. General Seare already weak hated by TPLF and has no power ever since Lemma took the top job. TPLF wants to get rid of him anyway. Abiye and TPLF know that Amara regional government, in particular, Dr Ambachew is very weak and unpopular soon or later he will leave his post most probably replaced by General Asaminew who is very popular, strong and care for his people. No love between the General and Abiye, Abiye contributed a great deal for General Asaminew imprisonment and the General knows a lot more about Abiye’s operations when he was working for TPLF. When Abiye visited Mekele, he promised TPLF to get rid of their threat and keep Amara land, get rid of all the strongest people fight for Amara rights long make Amara as if they are against the so-called change. Both know if General Asaminew manages Amara government, he will be detrimental for their existence.
Only evil people do these things.

Without Dr. Ambachew Mekonnen the Amara region is doomed to become the terrorists breeding ground of the horn of Africa.
Dr. Ambachew Mekonnen was the one person who solely brought peace in the most volatile part of Ethiopia, the Amara region. Since he got to power Amara region’s economy experienced the fastest growth rate ever with unemployment hitting an all time low right away. It is highly unlikely these achievements will continue without his plan being followed.
To the families of those whose life is cut short, May God comfort you in these times of grief..
This is the act of poor men…so, be calm!
These men are so inferior, and are incapable of fighting on ideas, instead resort to guns. Whatever their cause was, they lost.
