The President of Equatorial Guinea, H.E. Theodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo has arrived in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia today (June 17).
Upon arrival at Bole International Airport, the President was warmly welcomed by Foreign Minister H.E. Gedu Andargachew and other high-level government officials.
During his stay, President Theodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo will hold discussions with high-level government officials and representatives of the African Union.
The President will also visit Psori Refugee Camp in Benishangul-Gumuz Regional State.
The African Union has organized a series of events in commemoration of the 1969 OAU Convention Governing the Specific Aspects of Refugee Problems in Africa.
In February this year, the 32nd AU Summit was held in Addis Ababa under the theme: AU’s “Year of Refugees, Returnees and Internally Displaced Persons: Towards Durable Solutions to Forced Displacement in Africa.”
Accordingly, to promote and raise high-level support for the theme of 2019, the AU has appointed EquatorialGuinea’s President Theodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo as the theme’s Champion.
