Bahir Dar : 498 illegal guns seized in the residence of a police commander

Amhara Mass Media Agency reported today that 498 illegal hand guns are seized in the residence of a police commander in Bahir Dar, seat of Amhara regional state.

The police commander is identified as Wubetu and he is reportedly in police custody

The source did not release information as to whether preliminary investigations are carried out to determine the source and the purposes of gun hoarding.

Illicit trade in arms has become a major challenge for the government. From recent reports by different government media, Turkey made hand guns seem to be in high circulation in the illicit trade.
