Ethiopian Airlines plane run into ramp accident before take off

Ethiopian Airlines plane experienced what it called “minor ramp incident” before departure from Oslo International Airport yesterday evening.

It happened as B787-900 aircraft was “taxing for de-icing” before take off. The right wing of the aircraft hit a pole and was a bit damaged which caused delay in the flight schedule.

Press release from Ethiopian Airlines today said that all the passengers were taken to hotel and their flights re-booked.

The full text of it reads as follows :

    Ethiopian Airlines B787-900 aircraft with registration ET-AUP had a minor ramp incident at Oslo airport in evening of Tuesday, 18 December 2018 just before departure. While taxing for de-icing, the tip of the right wing of the aircraft touched a pole and sustained minor damage. All passengers were taken to hotel for rest while the tip of the wing of the aircraft is being repaired.

    All Passengers are rebooked to restore their travel plans. Ethiopian Airlines wishes to apologize to its esteemed customers for the inconvenience.
