The relationship between Ethiopia and United Arab Emirates is said to have shown remarkable progress in recent years
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed on Saturday led a delegation to the United Arab Emirates for a working visit. Gulf News, UAE news source, reported that the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, received the PM and the delegates.
Abiy called the reception warm. “My greatest appreciation to my brother His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan @MohamedBinZayed for the warm welcome accorded to my delegation and I. We discussed bilateral and regional issues as well as explored ways of further strengthening our ties,” he said in a Twitter message.
The two leaders had a meeting, shortly after the reception ceremony, the focus of which was to evaluate the bilateral relation and explore ways for strengthening it further.
The Crown Prince said, “I was pleased to meet with Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, in Abu Dhabi, where we discussed ways to further strengthen the close ties that exist between our two nations and to promote stability and development in various fields.”
The cooperation between the two countries is said to have demonstrated notable progress in the past few years in a range of areas including investment, trade and agriculture, among others.
Ways of further strengthening the relationship in the areas of development and economic sectors are also discussed, based on the report from Gulf News.
The United Arab Emirates is one of the countries in the Gulf region with a huge investment in Ethiopia in the areas of real estate, manufacturing and agriculture. UAE is said to have plans to invest more – especially in the agricultural sector.
Soon after, the now defunct ethnic party coalition, EPRDF, picked Abiy Ahmed as Prime Minister to replace Hailemariam Desalegne in 2018, UAE pledged $3 billion in grant and loan to ease the foreign currency crunch. $1 billion was reportedly wired right away.

That is called DIPLOMACY
In my opinion, it is a cover-up and good time for relaxation with beautiful words, with all sorts of niceties.
I am NOT against niceties among human beings; by all means, it should be continued — if it is foundation for good relation among people of the World. Deep down, I feel, IT IS NOT.
In any case, it is a million times better than seeing thousands & and thousands&; and thousands corps of innocent obedient soldiers who were ordered to sacrifice their precious EXISTENCE to satisfy the ego of self-appointed smart ‘Alecks ‘ (*)
(*) Somewhere, I read just a page of an article about a farm in Germany where the farmer was faced with buried bodies, after bodies, of Second World War remnants. — a symbol of “CIVILIZATION”” ?!?!?!?!?!? What a contradiction !!! What a “Savagery” !!!!!
War remnants — the symbol of “SAVAGERY” by supremly learned and “civilized” society. What an irony of history!!!!
Now the Abiy relaxing with whom he refers as his ” personal friend” . It would not be difficult to know how his ” personal friendship” was created if it were not for the high position he was granted by the people. We wonder how Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan refers Abiy? He irresponsibly was throwing the right words people want to hear that he planed to drop when opportunity comes.
BS aside what is his answer to the Defense at the Northern Command Post force TPLF slaughtered, the Defense force , Afar and Amhara fighters, militias and Fanos he sent to fight and sacrifice their lives only to violate and betray them through his secret deals? Now he thinks all his plans to stay in power are met he come out with careless strait face laying and deceiving.
This kind of illegal deal violating citizens right and his responsibility must not go easy without holding him accountable . This is not the reason why he got elected. It is because people want a government true to his people and because he promised to be different than his predecessor Derg and Woyane tyrants. That will protect defend and work in a transparent way . He violated all of them. Now people are not protected, defended and deals are done in a backdoors and purposely hidden from the general population.
