Last week, the Government of the Federal Republic of Brazil made a humanitarian donation to Ethiopia.
According to information borkena received from the Embassy of Brazil in Ethiopia, the donation is made to the Ministry of Health.
50,000 Azythromycin which is said to be worth USD 750,000 was handed over to State Minister of Health, Dereje Duguma, in the capital Addis Ababa.
Ambassador Luiz Eduardo de A. V. Pedroso, Ambassador of Brazil in Ethiopia, handed it over on behalf of the Brazilian Government and the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC), as disclosed by the embassy.
Brazil and Ethiopia have over sixty years of diplomatic relations. Brazil opened its embassy in Addis Ababa in 1960.
