Ethiopian Democratic Party founder and leader, Lidetu Ayalew, was released from prison on 30,000 birr bail last Friday. He is not cleared of the charges of alleged mobilization of youth in Debre Zeit to “challenge the constitutional order forcefully.”
Regarding the current situation in Ethiopia, he tends to see it as an outcome of rivalry within the former ruling coalition, Ethiopian Peoples’ Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF).
His position regarding how Ethiopia got herself in a war situation with TPLF seems to be rather not unambiguous.
