Ethiopian Public Diplomacy team will be visiting Uganda on Tuesday this week, Ethiopian government sources disclosed on Monday.
In an update published on Monday, Ethiopia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs cited Ethiopia’s ambassador to Uganda, Alemtsehay Meseret, as saying that the public diplomacy group aims “strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations between Ethiopia and Uganda.”
Ethiopia’s public diplomacy group is composed of government officials,politicians, artists and business people, among others.

Ethiopian Embassy in Uganda Gives Press Release on Ethiopian Public Diplomacy Team
H.E. Ambassador Alemtsehay Meseret, the Ethiopian Ambassador to Uganda today (November 25) briefed Ugandan journalists about the Ethiopian Public Diplomacy team that will visit Uganda as of tomorrow.
The Ambassador said the Ethiopian Embassy in Uganda in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uganda, members of the Ethiopian Diaspora in Uganda and other stakeholders has finalized its preparation to receive and help the Ethiopian group conduct a successful diplomatic visit.
In responding to questions from journalists regarding the visit, Ambassador Alemtsehay said the visit of the Ethiopian Public Diplomacy Group is aimed at strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations between Ethiopia and Uganda.
It will further strengthen the people-to-people relationship by facilitating exchanges of cultural values among the people of the two countries, she added.
The Ambassador also said the very composition of the Ethiopian group that includes high ranking government officials, well known politicians, artists, World laureate, business and tourism community representatives would be a plus for a vibrant cultural exchange.
The visit will help Ethiopia to secure societal, economic and political interests too, the Ambassador added.
Accompanying Ambassador Alemtsehay during the press statement, Head of the Public Diplomacy Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uganda, Mr. Alfred Nnam, on his part said his Government was delighted to host the Ethiopian Public Diplomacy team.
He said the government of Uganda is ready to accept its guests to help boost the longstanding friendly relations between the people of Uganda and Ethiopia.
