The Ethiopian Diaspora Agency held a two-day consultative forum with the federal and regional stakeholders at the Ethiopian Management Institute from 16-17, November 2019.
The agency’s Director General Mrs. Selamawit Dawit delivered opening remarks at the forum.
The forum discussed to modernize and organize Diaspora data through identifying existing challenges and gaps at the national level.
The Agency, Regional Diaspora Coordination Offices and Diaspora Associations also presented their performance reports for the first quarter of the fiscal year.
Participants discussed the types of Diaspora data that are intended to be modernized.
The Agency’s efforts to resolve the barriers to the implementation of the Diaspora investment were also among the key themes discussed in the forum.
In addition to consulting on strengthening Diaspora Associations, participants deliberated on narrowing down the existing gaps in the organizational structures and capacity levels of various regional offices’ of the Agency.
After the discussion, participants visited Unity Park.
