Over 2200 machete, and bolo, among other things, are reportedly seized at Debre Berhan checkpoint while heading to the capital Addis Ababa.
The state media – Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) – reported on Saturday that the driver of ISUZU truck (name and plate number of the truck not disclosed) and the person who is said to own the machete are in police custody.
An investigation is underway on the two individuals according to Wasihun Berhanu who is deputy head of security affairs for the zone – as cited by EBC.
The truck was seized on Friday around 11 p.m. local time at Debre Berhan about 120 kilometers north of Addis Ababa.
