The Ministry of Information of Eritrea has issued a press statement on Wednesday, April 3, 2019.
The statement accuses Turkey of “acts of subversion” against Eritrea. The statement also accuses two other countries of supporting the acts of Turkey.
Qatar is supporting the move in terms of funding and operational service, according to Eritrea. Its neighbor in the southwest, Sudan, has offered its territory to be used by those countries for what Eritrea called “nefarious aims.”
The statement added that move has been enhancing in the past year which Eritrea linked it to an objective to “obstructing the peace process and positive developments in the ties between Eritrea and Ethiopia in particular and the whole Horn of Africa region in general.”
According to Eritrea, Turkey has gone as far as the opening “an Office for the Chairman of the obscure ‘Eritrean Muslim League’ under the mantle of ‘Eritrean Ulama’s League/Eritrean Rabita-i Ulama.’ ”
As well, Eritrea condemned what it called an inflammatory statement against Ethiopia and Eritrea during a “meeting of this subversive outfit few days ago in Khartoum”
Full statement from Eritrean Ministry of Information reads as follows:
- The sporadic acts of subversion conducted by the Turkish Government, (under the auspices of the ruling Justice and Development Party, AKP), against Eritrea are well known to merit elaboration here. These futile acts are perpetrated through the funding and operational services of Qatar, as well as the collusion of the Sudanese regime which has allowed its territory to be used for the nefarious aims.
These subversive acts have been ratcheted up especially in the past year with the singular aim of obstructing the peace process and positive developments in the ties between Eritrea and Ethiopia in particular and the whole Horn of Africa region in general. In this vein, the Turkish Government has opened, at the beginning of this year, an Office for the Chairman of the obscure “Eritrean Muslim League” under the mantle of “Eritrean Ulama’s League/Eritrean Rabita-i Ulama”.
The inflammatory public pronouncements made against Eritrea and Ethiopia in a meeting of this subversive outfit few days ago in Khartoum were beyond any bounds. But they will remain no more than mere tantrum and posturing!

Eritrea and Turky were at one time chummy, chumy …….What it means, in practical reality, is that the Dictators of both countries were in the mode of ‘scratch my back; I scratch yours’. They work for themselves; NEVER for the people >>> simple and the ultimate cruelty. The ordinary people of both countries are not important; and it applies to overwhelming majority of Members of the civilized UN Organization.
Now, let us see the ‘grievances’ of the Dictators in a summarized listing
DT = Dictator of Turkey
DE = Dictator of Eritrea
Background Reality = The people of both countries, for all practical purpose, are subservient to their respective Dictators. Never mind that Turkey have election gimmick; while in Eritrea there has never been even the semblance of election.
Now to the accusation of one Dictator upon the other:
a) DT has a problem at Home and needs a diversion;
b) DT decided to use RELIGION as a powerful force for diversion – a perfect weapon for time immemorial as people will give their attention and LIFE for something unseen and untouchable (supernatural belief);
c) DT selects Eritrea as a perfect diversional tactic as it has been loaded with that dynamite called RELIGION for time immemorial;
d) But DE complains because it disturbs his carefully crafted scheme with Ethiopia, not for the benefit of the people who fought for thirty-years and sacrificed their precious LIFE to be FREE. To a Dictator, such a sacrifice is NOTHING, as people are taken for granted to be used for the egotistical ambition and pleasure of Dictators.
e) The History of mankind asserts the above fact. It is a FACT that can never be disputed. That is why individual mortals survive as absolute Dictators at the expense of the overwhelming majority innocent ‘sheep’ of the Good Lord of Heaven.
f) Amen, Inshalah [in alphabetical order, please], I don’t want to have hysterical reaction as to which belief should be listed first! Wow! It seems that people have sensitive reaction and dedication to RELIGION, way ahead of their daily existence. And that is why, ‘smart Aleks’ with minimum and/or NO education are able to make people [which includes super-educated with Doctor of Philosophy Testimonial] as their obedient subservient for Life!!!
