Birhanu Legese, an Ethiopian athlete, won the Tokyo Marathon on Sunday. The 24 years old athlete finished the distance in 2:04:48 which is said to be the second-fastest time in the history of the race.
“Had the weather been better, I could have run 2:03,” said Birhanu, according to IAAF report.
The Woman’s category of Japanese’ capital Marathon is also won by an Ethiopian Athlete, Ruti Aga.
She finished the distance in style clocking in the third fastest time in the history of the city’s woman marathon. It took her 2: 20: 40 to cross the finishing line.
