Voice of Amhara Radio Journalist, Demis Belte, returned to his country Ethiopia about three or weeks ago after over three decades in exile.

A report emerging in social media since yesterday say that he was found dead in his sister’s place on Friday in the capital Addis Ababa barely – just after three weeks in the country.

According to reports on social media, his eight years’ old son, who traveled with him from the United States where his father lived for a long time, discovered blood in his mouth and told family members. When he was taken to hospital, doctors advised the family that he was already dead.

Ethiopians are treating his death as suspicious and calling for an investigation into his death.

Funeral arrangement is completed and sources in social media say that he will be laid to rest at Menbere Tsebaot Kiddist Selassie church.

borkena team would like to express heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the late Demis Belete.

  1. It is very sad we lost this great son of Ethiopia. What is even more sad is that his life is not being celebrated as it should be. What is wrong with us?
