Commander of Eastern Military Command Post,Major General Zewudu Belay, reportedly said that the military court punished 66 soldiers who went to the Prime Minister’s office in October of this year on alleged grounds of demanding pay raise and benefits.

As revealed by the Prime Minister later, their intention was to kill him and abort the reform measures in the country.

The remaining soldiers are to be subjected to administrative measures.

The soldiers are sentenced to jail terms ranging from 14 years to five years depending on the role they played in what was meant to be a coup. And the jail term is without parole, according to a report by the Ethiopian Reporter.
