Activist, and many TPLF politicians alike, have been alleged that government measures on suspects of crimes like organized theft, corruption and human right abuse are rather targeting Tigreans in the name of fighting corruption.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed addressed the issue today during a meeting with opposition party leaders( including from Tigray region.)
The motive of crackdown on, says government, is to deter law enforcement bodies, including police and intelligence unit, from committing similar crimes in the future and encourage them to carry out their duties with a sense of responsibility, obviously apart from ensuring rule of law and justice in the country.

I think that is absolutely wonderful t deter future abuse of intelligence and security units. The issue is that the attorney general who is supposed to uphold the rule f law and Procedure including presumption of innocence has already abused his powers, in this new era of change, by 1. Assuming the incriminated are guilty by producing the documentary 2 press statements that take away the right to a free trial but rather condemn the arrested to a mob trial. The only way to deter future abuses is not by threat or intimidation but by upholding the rule of law to the tee, including the right to a presumption of innocence and the right to a free and fair trial. The PM should work on his procedure and appoint an absolutely brilliant and very competent attorney general who does things professionally and I bet you there would be less outcry from the North.

it is really attacking Tigray in the pretext of corruption while working with widely known dictators and killers like Esyas afwerki and full time terrorist like the so-called Dr juwar mohammed in the name of reconciliation and unity. Dr Abiy is a cancerous for ethnics and nationalities . He is telling amhara and other tribes that they were suppressed by Tigray minorities ; as he depict and display it to the people. This is the tactics which he want to implement in order to subjugate his subordinates and numb them to accomplish his political agenda.Be ware of his lies and sugarcoated propaganda used as casting a spell on you ppl. Tigray will counterattack to any kind of verbal or physical attack. His or your narrow_minded and ethnic based discrimination will not get you anywhere. take a lesson from history like a wise-men but not like a foolish people who accustomed to develop a regret after another regret . You are all mostly insane or undeducated at the very least. This Tribal B.S. is why I lost faith in Ethiopia and will change over to different passports. My family has fought and died for Abyssinia and Ethiopia since the inception of our history, even my then older brother died fighting the Derg and TPLF at the age of 16. Most of you are internet tough guys who have no understanding of what it would take to fix Ethiopia, I say let it all curmble because “Ethiopian identity” is only found when a foreign invader arrives at the door. Let me make this clear also, I am one of the tallest and heaviest Ethiopians in the world and many people when I travel have a tough time believing I am Ethiopian and assume I am part Samoan.
