Ethiopian Airlines is flying to Moscow as of December 1,2018. Update published yesterday by the Airlines says it is going to be three times a week flight.
When operational,it is expected to connect Moscow with 59 cities in Africa. Preparetions have been finalized and Ethiopian will deploy ultra-modern 787 Dreamline for the route.
The airlines believe that the flight to Moscow will “facilitate better trade, investment and tourism relations between the two regions.”
CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Tewolde Gebremariam, said:
- “…the air connectivity Ethiopian provides to link Africa and Russia will go a long way towards facilitating and bolstering multifaceted relations between the two regions. Our direct flights will also promote Ethiopian and other African Tourist attractions to the Russian tourists. Russia will be the final BRICS country in our ever growing global network…”
Ethiopian Airlines has 116 destinations world wide currently.
It was founded in 1945 by the imperial government of Haileselassie I and is currently the leading airlines in Africa with 100 modern aircraft in the air.
The airlines embarked on an ambitious expansion plans recently. The French government pledged yesterday, during Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s official visit to the country, to spend €100 million to help expand the terminal.
