Zimbabwe’s longtime leader, president Robert Mugabe, is reportedly under house arrest after the military entered the palace. However, the military decline to label its actions as a coup d’etat.
Army spokesperson, Maj Gen Moyo, addressed president Mugabe as “His excellency president Mugabe, commander in chief of the army” and stated that President Mugabe and his family are safe and sound and their security is guaranteed”
South African president Jacob Zuma reportedly spoke to president Robert Mugabe who told him that he is confined to his house.
It is not yet announced that president Mugabe is deposed from power. However, there are rumors that the military has a plan to bring sacked vice-president, Emmerson Mnangagwa, to power.
