While all the awards for Teddy are well deserved, there are concerns among Ethiopians that politicised Teddymania could make the iconic star vulnerable to the regime in power.
On a different note, there are also critical voices who tend to see the practice of westernised form of celebration, including the use of English language as a medium of communication in Ethiopian community events, as an uninformed and unconscious practice that threaten Ethiopian values.
