Feyisa Lilesa won United Airlines New York City Half Marathon yesterday. He finished the distance in a time of 1:00:04.
Teshome Mekonen, another Ethiopian athlete finished clocked 1:00:28 to finish third, behind Callum Hawkins who challenged Feyisa in the final 5k all the way to the finishing line.
Feyisa Lilesa showed X sign raising his hands over his head. The sign is now widely regarded as oromo resistance sign.
he reunited with his family last month the valentine day after six months and is now settled in Arizona, United States.
