Ethiopia : Meskerem Assefa won Houston Marathon. Feyisa Lilesa finished second

Meskerem Assefa of Ethiopia won Houston Marathon in a time of 2:30:18 this morning. The title was won in 2016 by another Ethiopian Biruktayit Degefa.

This morning’s Men’s Marothon in is won by Ororo in a time of 2:12:05

In the men’s half marathon category, the legendary Feyisa Lilesa finished second in style showing his protest sign which made him famous during Rio Olympic.

Feyisa put up a stunning effort claim the title but it was the American Leonard Korir who finished first in a matter of seconds.

Feyisa Lilesa is competing at the London Marathon along with Kenenisa Bekele this month. Feyisa is unable to return to Ethiopia after he showed protest sign at the Rio Olympic.
