As reported in many Ethiopian news outlets, agricultural investors cooperative association from Tigray complained about the way they are treated in Gambella region of Ethiopia.
Among other things, they complained about defamation and identity based attack. There are claims that most of the Tigraian investors in Gambella were either former Tigray People’s Liberation Front guerrilla fighters or their relatives. For many, these investors are part of the land grab deal arranged by the government of Ethiopia.
Ermias Legesse and Sisay Agena look in to the issue closely. Apparently, these investors seem to constituent a significant proportion of investors in Gambella region.
